Janis Joplin - Little Girl Blue (This is Tom Jones, 1969)
Queen Janis sings an amazing version of this song, way back in 1969. I put this video up because it's rarely shown elsewhere, it's such a vulnerable performance and unlike anything else she ever recorded. Enjoy.

Someone once wrote that, The death of Jimi Hendrix & Jim Morrison as tragic as they were, we pretty much knew their range and capabilities, Janis however was just turning a page, from that Rocky screamy singer to a more mature refined bluesy singer, as shown on her Pearl album, we will never know the heights of greatness this woman could have achieved

If only more people aspired to sing like this... We would not be dying of thirst in the musical desert of 2010. Her candle burned twice as bright - we no longer witness passion such as this in these sad times...

Awesome performance. For me it is even better, more soulful, than the studio version that I have. How often do we hear someone top their studio version when performing live?

We were there that night very close to the front. The other guest was Glen Campbell. Still my favorite Janis song. It's from Kosmic Blues
